2020 has completely transformed our perception of social life and public space when essentially everyone’s home becomes the only safe place and everyone’s own refuge in solitude. The shape of a house becomes a symbol of refuge and safety that is overlaid with the lifeguard station.

The lifeguard is now also the house guard which maintains the safety social distance of 1.5m between the four rooms for four groups of people with different party sizes under one single roof in one house. The four groups of visitors are visually connected but physically separated. The four rooms are similar but different in size with a hidden surprise in one room facing the ladder of the lifeguard station that leads the visitor up to a viewing platform.
